Owners' Chuck, Dan, David and David’s wife, Joyce (Ferland) Fitzgerald aim to provide the highest quality product and service in a family friendly atmosphere. Our smokehouse prepares and serves locally raised meats and produce, and our menu incorporates Fitzgerald family maple products along with Ferland family recipes. Our baked goods are made in house and menu items are prepared to order creating an experience similar to a freshly home cooked meal. Having a hometown family feel is important to us because we are family-owned and operated. Our brewhouse also incorporates the same values as we use Vermont grown hops in beers like Pour George, our award winning pilsner style lager.
Co-owner and brew master Dan Fitzgerald has been brewing for nearly 10 years and in 2014 he invited his brother David to an all grains brewing class. After attending the class the pair would get together a few times a month to brew, cook food, and reminisce about their youth growing up on the historic Mill River in Georgia, VT. Friends and family would congregate to sample their different batches of beer and enjoy home cooked food. The response to their passion for brewing and cooking along with their ever-welcoming sense of community was bigger than they expected and they felt it needed a bigger platform, leading to the idea of Mill River Brewing BBQ & Smokehouse!
